Patrick "Pat" Stanton

On Sunday, 28 Oct 2018, Jameson’s stock price fell sharply on the news of Mr. Patrick Stanton’s passing. The Trump administration immediately called an emergency meeting and are actively scrambling to find another loyalist to lead the stamping out of “Fake News and Liberal Lies” on social media. Medical professionals think his body finally succumbed to the cancer, but insiders insist it was the Ancestry DNA report he opened earlier in the weekend showing a distant but verified relationship to Barack Obama. He was at home in Newnan, GA, surrounded by his loving family when he got the news. Rest assured though, he already voted via absentee ballot. Notably he loved the Braves, hated “lie-brals”, and was an up and coming stand up paddle board champion. Pat was an avid traveler, outdoorsman, reader, accomplished distance runner, and mechanically brilliant RV repairman. Other hobbies included watching Fox News, honing his smart ass comebacks, counting his guns, shooting cans, and helping others. In all seriousness, Pat was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother, teacher, friend, advocate, and patriot. Pat retired from a decorated military service after 20 years, serving 4 years in the United States Marine Corp from 1965 to 1969 and 16 years in the Army. He remains a Marine. Post military, he acquired a masters in education and an EdS degree in order to pursue his desire to teach. He is survived by his wife Susan Gainer Stanton of 46 years (notably 2 good years and 44 others); sons Patrick Jason and David Stanton (Newnan, GA); brothers Frank (The Villages, FL), Richard (Bellview, FL), Paul (Deltona, FL) and James Stanton (Browns Mills, NJ); sisters Thelma Bray (Bithlo, FL) and Elizabeth Burd (Cherry Hill, NJ); numerous nieces and nephews (he was one of 15 siblings!); and so many friends and admirers, plus the impenetrable backyard compound wall he spent years building. Amongst his many qualities, he will be remembered for his sparkling eyes, his brief stint as a Census taker and his inappropriate sense of humor. Pat wished to be cremated (pumpkin spice flavored; ‘tis the season) and instead of mourning his passing, he wanted people to celebrate his life getting liquored up while sharing fond memories and embarrassing stories. Pat left assurances that he and his beloved Savannah are just going ahead of us to stake out the best camp site with a river view, start the fire, prep the mustard bottle, and pop open a few cold ones. A Memorial service will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, 03 November 2018, at Parrott Funeral Home, 8355 Senoia Rd, Fairburn, GA 30213. An Irish Wake with snacks and beverages will follow at 1:00 PM downstairs at the Redneck Gourmet, 11 North Court Square, Newnan, GA. Pat wanted guests to stand up, share stories, and toast to his wonderful life. Flip flops are authorized.
