Bari Peak Kerr

Bari Peak Kerr, born on July 19, 1946, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 78. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and joy. For 32 years, Bari served with dedication and diligence at the State of Georgia, where she made a lasting impact through her work and her warm, welcoming spirit. A woman of many talents, she was especially known for her beautiful singing voice, which graced the Flat Creek Choir for many years. Her deep faith and generous heart found further expression in her involvement with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at Flat Creek Baptist Church, a place that held great meaning to her throughout her life. Bari had an exceptional gift for sewing and was regarded as the best seamstress by all who knew her. She shared her talents selflessly and often, creating cherished pieces for family and friends. Known for her great sense of humor and uncanny ability to connect with anyone she met, Bari was truly everybody's friend and never met a stranger. Bari was preceded in death by her cherished parents, William and Georgia Peak, and her dear brother, Billy Peak. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Doug Kerr, who stood by her side through life's many joys and challenges. Her loving daughters, Pam Eggli and her husband John, and Paige Whitaker brought much pride to her life. She adored her grandchildren, Robin Carr and her husband Scott, Alex Whitaker, and Austin Whitaker and his wife Kristin; they were her delight and her inspiration. Bari also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Lynn Norman and Joyce Peak, as well as a multitude of friends whose lives she touched profoundly with her warmth and laughter. A service to celebrate Bari's life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Davis officiating. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society, www.donate.cancer.org Bari Kerr will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
