Carol Ann Bragg

Carol Ann Bragg, born on May 5, 1937, in Shelbyville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, in Newnan, Georgia, at the age of 87. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Carol's life was marked by love, dedication, and service to her family and community. Carol was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Gene Bragg, Sr., with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they co-owned a successful food brokerage, working side by side to build a thriving business that served their community well. A woman of deep faith, Carol was an active and cherished member of Tyrone Christian Church, where she found joy and fulfillment in worship and fellowship. Her commitment to her faith and her church family was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering devotion. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Katherine Melcher; her sister, Janet Jackson; and her beloved husband, Kenneth Gene Bragg, Sr. She leaves behind a legacy of love and family, survived by her sons, Ken Bragg, Jr. (Patti) and Scott Bragg (Darla); her brother, Rev. Kent Melcher (Julie); and her grandchildren, K.G. Bragg, III, Katie Moore (Adam), Michael Bragg (Caroline), and Alex Bragg (Maura). She was also the proud great-grandmother of Charlotte "Lottie" Bragg and will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Carol's life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Minister Billy Rowe officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Carol Melcher Bragg will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, grace, and unwavering love.
