Charles D. (Danny) Abercrombie

Charles D. Abercrombie, (affectionately known as Danny), a devoted family man and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, in Gay, Georgia, at the age of 82. Born on October 7, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, Danny lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Nina Moody Abercrombie, and his parents, Charlie and Martha Abercrombie. Together, Danny and Nina built a strong and enduring family legacy centered around their shared values and love for one another. In his professional endeavors, Danny founded DC Power Specialists, an electrical business that has thrived for 35 years under his leadership. His commitment to making everyone feel like family extended beyond his own household to his employees, creating a true family business. Danny had a passion for the outdoors, spending cherished moments hunting and fishing. His love for nature was only rivaled by his dedication to mission work in Africa with the Church of Christ, where he made a significant impact and formed lasting bonds. He also contributed greatly to his local church, where he was a minister of gospel, helping out in numerous ways throughout the years. He is survived by his loving children: sons Alton Abercrombie (Nadine) and Christopher Abercrombie (Rhonda), and daughter Melynda Gayle (Larry). His legacy extends to his treasured grandchildren: Robbie, Travis, Kevin, Josh, Olivia (Xavier), Madelyn, Samuel, and Natalie, and his great-grandchildren: Hampton, Kinzie, Alice, Wilson, Ellarie, and one more soon to join the family. He is also survived by his dear sister, Joan Yankey. A service to honor and celebrate Danny's life will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Parrott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Danny D. Abercrombie will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his generous heart, but most importantly his faithfulness to Christ. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Christ c/o Africa Fund 1414 Alvaton Rd. Gay, GA 30218 for missionary work, providing food, Bible's and songbooks, and buildings to songbook, work there.
