Charles Allen Huls

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Allen Huls, who passed away on August 3, 2024, in Fayetteville, Georgia, at the age of 62. Born on June 27, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, Charles lived a life full of love, adventure, and unwavering dedication to his family and passions. Charles was a true sportsman from a young age, excelling in wrestling, football, and swimming during his high school years. His love for sports continued throughout his life as he supported the Kansas City Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers. A man of many interests, he was an avid collector of recipes and had a deep affection for animals, finding joy and companionship in their presence. His humor was legendary—so infectious it could make anyone laugh even when life seemed about as cheerful as a Monday morning without coffee. In his early years, Charles served his country with honor as an E-5 tank commander in the Army. His time in the military instilled in him values of discipline, leadership, and resilience that he carried throughout his life. Charles married the love of his life, Rhonda Crawley Huls, on October 7, 2000. Their nearly 24 years of marriage were marked by love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they built a beautiful family, and his legacy lives on through his children: Peggie Huls, and Meredith Huls as well as his sons Derrick Lande, Steven Lande, He is also survived by his loving sisters Nancy Huls and Lisa Whiteman, who cherished him deeply. His nieces and nephews, Eric, Rachel, Stacey, Ariel, and Joe. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Joseph and Helen Rachel Huls, and his sister Sandy Herdliska. Charles was a man known for giving the best hugs and being a fierce protector of his family. His presence brought comfort and safety to those he loved, and his kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he met. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery, Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11 o’clock.
