Clara Geraldine "Jerry" Cochran Hearn

Clara Geraldine "Jerry" Cochran Hearn, born on December 31, 1933, in Stonewall, GA passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 91. Her life was marked by a deep devotion to family, a passion for nature, and a love for art. Jerry dedicated 32 years of her professional life to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, contributing significantly to the organization, including a period working in Washington, D.C. Her career reflected her lifelong passion for the natural world, which extended beyond her work into her personal life. She cherished exploring national parks and visiting fish hatcheries with her children, instilling in them a love for the environment. A talented artist, Jerry found joy in sketching, often capturing the beauty of the world around her. Her love for animals was evident throughout her life, whether caring for them on her family's farm or appreciating them in their natural habitats. Family was the cornerstone of Jerry's life. Her sister, Barbara Cochran Lee, was not just her sibling but her best friend. Their bond was a testament to the importance Jerry placed on family ties. She was deeply devoted to her entire family, always prioritizing their well-being and happiness. Jerry was an active member of the Church of Christ, where she found community and spiritual fulfillment. Her faith was an integral part of her life and provided her with strength and comfort. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pascal "Pat" Hearn; her parents, Joshua Tidwell and Amanda Irene Cochran; her son, Randy Hearn; and her sister, Barbara Cochran Lee. Jerry's legacy continues through her surviving family: her daughter, Lynn Hearn; her son Kelly Hearn and his wife Kim; her grandchildren, Joshua Hearn and his wife Michaela, Amanda Sims and her husband Brian, and Jillian Hearn; her cherished great-grandchildren, Emma Hearn, Liam Hearn, Kaida Sims, Keili Sims, and Kya Sims; her sisters Lorene Parrott and her husband Dal, JoAnne Neville and her husband Leslie; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 1 o’clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Minister Kevin Mills officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Parrott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Jerry will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her work and passions, and her gentle spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, artistry, and a profound appreciation for the natural world.
