Cynthia Kaminer Creech

Cynthia Kaminer Creech, 94, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 15, 2024. She was born in Lexington, South Carolina, and moved to Columbia, South Carolina, upon her marriage to Talcott Creech, Jr. in 1949. For a short time, she was employed as a Southern Bell telephone operator. After moving to Forest Park, Georgia, in 1963, she became a stay-at-home mom as she began raising her five children. She was very involved in her local church, Conley First Baptist (currently Brushy Knob Baptist), where she was a member and served faithfully for over 60 years. Cynthia was a loving wife to her husband of 75 years, mother to five children, and a grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved and admired her deeply. Her greatest joy was spending time with and being surrounded by all of her family. She enjoyed watching all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s sporting events through the years. Her passion was baseball, and she loved watching the Atlanta Braves. Throughout the years, she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally, including many trips across Europe. One of her greatest joys was journaling about her travels and daily activities to preserve the memories of time spent with family. Cynthia loved having the family gather on holidays, birthdays, and many other special occasions. She was a fantastic cook and could put a feast on the table with the greatest of ease. Vegetable soup was her specialty that no one in the family was ever able to replicate, even though many have tried. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds at her bird feeders, but how she hated those pesky squirrels. Her yard was always adorned with beautiful flowers and one of her greatest joys was gardening. She was well known by her family and friends for delicious home-grown tomatoes. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Felder & Lula Kaminer and siblings, Loretta Leaphart, Annie Laura Ricard, and Betty Keisler. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Talcott B Creech, Jr.; sister, Sylvia Durden; daughter, Gayle (Sid) Lyell; sons, Eddie (Mary Ann) Creech, Don (Sandy) Creech, Stanley (Deborah)Creech, and Kevin (DeAnn) Creech. Grandchildren; Jason (Angie) Lyell, Julie (Shawn) Keef, Cameron (Bethany) Creech, Connor Creech, Colin Creech, Caitlin (Vincent) Lederman, Austin Creech, Hannah (Brandon) Bowman, Kacey Creech, Matthew Creech, Nate Creech, Zach (Lane) Creech. Great Grands: Griffin, Brennan , Lilly, Brayden, Addie, Asher, Kaylee,Lucas, Bennett, Grayson, Brooklynn, Elliott and Annie. She was loved dearly by her entire family and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2 o’clock with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
