Denise Darcel Lantible

Denise Darcel Lantible, “Nise” as she was affectionately called by family and friends was born on January 25, 1975, in East Point, GA, and passed away on July 22, 2024, at Piedmont Fayette hospital. She was the sixth of nine children born to Clyde and Annette Cobb. She is preceded in death by her eldest brother, Tracy Lamar Terrell. She is survived by her husband of sixteen years, Kossivi Melchisedek Lantible, her parents, Clyde and Annette Cobb of Fairburn GA; her siblings, Gregory (Janice) Terrell of Covington, GA; Christopher (Brenda) Cobb of Union City, GA; Marcus (Katrina) Cobb of Missoula, MT; Inga (David) Mondesir of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Chanda Cobb of Nashville, TN; Tanja Cobb of Fairburn, GA; and Anita Cobb of Fairburn, GA. Denise was a bright, generous and kind person who brought joy to the lives of those around her. Her smile and warm laugh could brighten up anyone’s day. Denise had a deep passion for literature, gardening, medicine, the weather, and all things pertaining to space. She had an innate ability to write poetry and was an avid reader. She was also an excellent baker and a great cook with a well-developed palate. Denise played the violin and had a love for classical, soft rock, and pop music. Denise's favorite place in the world was outside this world itself. She marveled at the planets, stars, and galaxies, always expressing her awe in our Creator when learning about them. She also had a love for sports, especially basketball, and was a natural born sportscaster. Denise graduated from high school in 1993. She later graduated from nursing school and became a pediatric nurse, excelling in her profession for over 20 years. She was compassionate and dedicated to her patients, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Denise's faith in Jehovah was a pillar in her life. She found immense joy in her relationship with Jehovah. She was baptized in 1990 at the age of fifteen and became a regular pioneer in 2015, serving in the French-Atlanta congregation. Denise found joy engaging in the ministry and studying the deeper things of God's word, the Bible. Her strong faith in the resurrection hope provided her comfort, and she often encouraged others to meditate on it as well. Denise's unwavering faith led her to maintain her integrity to Jehovah by refusing any blood. She truly lived according to her Bible-based conscience, living up to her dedication until the end. Denise loved being with family and friends. She was a sweet person who instantly became friends with anyone she met. She always put the needs and wants of others ahead of her own, making an impact on their lives. Denise Darcel Lantible will be cherished and deeply missed by her husband, family, friends, and a host nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Her faith and kind nature will continue to inspire those who knew her.
