Diane Brown Coker

Diane Brown Coker, born on May 19, 1949, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 75. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, cherished for her warm spirit, dedication, and the love she bestowed upon her family and friends. Diane found her calling as an Operating Room Surgical Nurse at Tanner Medical Center, where she tirelessly dedicated herself to aiding others. Her profession was not just a job, but a source of immense pride and joy, reflecting her caring nature and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of her patients. Beyond her professional life, Diane had a deep-seated passion for travel and particularly enjoyed cruises, which allowed her to explore new locales and cultures. She was also an enthusiastic participant in karaoke, delighting those around her with her singing talents. A devoted mother and grandmother, Diane's family was her world. She selflessly sacrificed much to support and care for her beloved grandchildren, always ensuring they felt loved and valued. Her legacy of love and devotion is carried on through her surviving family: her boyfriend, Steve Cannon; her daughter, Melinda Hudgins; her son, Bruce Coker, and his wife, Yolanda. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Tyler Hudgins and his wife Amy, Caitlin Beckwith and her husband Joshua, Kortney Harrington, Madison Coker, and Stephanie Coker, as well as her great-granddaughter, Savannah Hudgins. Diane is also survived by her siblings, Helen Davis, Lois Vance, Carolyn Taylor, Leon Hulion, Jr., and his wife, Carolyn, Mark Hulion and his wife, Wanda, and Donald Ray Hulion and his wife, Nancy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henderson Lomax Brown and Durline Hulion, her stepfather, Leon Hulion, her brother, Bon Brown, and her sister, Patricia Carroll. A service to honor and celebrate Diane's life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Pastor David Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hill Cemetery in Palmetto. Diane's kindness, dedication, and love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
