Forrest Earl "Bud" McCready, III

Forrest Earl “Bud” McCready, III, of Palmetto, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on October 10, 1940, in Atlanta, Georgia, Bud was a dedicated family man and respected member of his community. Bud built a long and successful career at Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a supervisor until his retirement. His steadfast commitment to his work reflected his diligence and integrity. Beyond his professional life, he found great happiness as an avid outdoorsman, indulging in his passion for hunting, fishing, and participating in shooting competitions. He delighted in teaching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren about gun safety and the art of shooting, sharing his love for the outdoors with them. Bud had a mischievous spirit and was known as a practical jokester, bringing laughter and smiles to those around him. Bud is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Forrest Earl and Lillian McCready, Jr., his cherished son, Jeffrey Haldon McCready, his grandson, Andrew McCready, and great-grandchild Christian Rainwater. Left to treasure his memory is his devoted wife of 65 years, Barbara McCready. He is also survived by his children: Elizabeth "Dee" Rainwater and her husband Tommy, Robyn Robinson, and Forrest "Reb" McCready, IV and his wife Nancy. His legacy extends to his siblings: Ruth Ann Patrick and her husband Walter "Bucky," Carol McCready, Stephen McCready and his wife Rhonda, and Lynn McCready. Bud was a proud grandfather to Adam Rainwater, Daniel Rainwater, Blake Rainwater and his wife Amanda, Chris Robinson and his wife Amy, Hope Johnson and her husband Brandon, Aimee Levens and her husband Tyler, Tori McClurg and her husband Justin, Taylor Robinson and his wife Keri, Josh McCready, Audrey Jezeski and her husband Josh, and Matthew McCready. His love and wisdom continue through his great-grandchildren: Kailey, Lawson, Mattis, Emerson, Logan, Damien, Alena, Haley, Emilee, Lily, Gabriel, Daxton, Koragon, Emma, and Lillian, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A memorial service honoring Bud's life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Pastor Daniel Godfrey will officiate the ceremony. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Bud will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends, and the quiet strength he brought into their lives.
