Fred Nelson Parrott

Fred Nelson Parrott, born July 9, 1953, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Fred was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many with his quiet strength and gentle humor. Fred was a retired member of the Peachtree City Public Works, where he spent his days ensuring things ran smoothly and efficiently, a testament to his nature as a "jack of all trades." His interests were as varied as they were numerous, encompassing everything from cars and tractors to woodworking and caring for animals. He had a special way with horses, dogs, cats, and even a goat that found its way into his care at one point. Outside of work, Fred loved nothing more than spending time with his family and doting on his grandchildren. His love for his wife of 16 years, Jenny Parrott, was evident to all who knew him, as was his devotion to his children Tina Scott (David), Scott Parrott (Crystal), Kim Whittle (Jason), and stepdaughter Jamie Watts. Fred's legacy lives on in his grandchildren Shay Shiver, Briar Shiver, Dakota Parrott, Jake Parrott, Easton Parrott, Chase Whittle, Chance Whittle, Addison Whittle, and Miranda Scott, who brought him immense joy. A man who could fix anything, Fred was famous in the community for building many things, his hands always busy bringing ideas to life. His culinary skills were also renowned, especially his country cooking and the cornbread that was nothing short of legendary. Fred was an active member of the Community Bible Church in Senoia, where his faith guided him through life's journey. Though he has left this world, he is now reunited with his parents, Sydney and Marie Parrott; his granddaughter, Savannah Shiver; his brother, Jerry Parrott; and his sisters, Maxine Minix, Etheleen Adams, and Faye Neill. Surviving Fred are his sisters Catherine Redwine, Dinah Suchy (Joe), Ann Adams (Ronald), along with many nieces and nephews who will miss his jovial spirit and cowboy toughness. Services to honor Fred's memory will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Reverend Brooks Everett officiating. Visitation will occur two hours prior to the service, and burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Gardens.
