James "Jimmy" Alan Konieczny

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Alan Konieczny, who departed this world on November 13, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on November 26, 1963, James lived a life full of dedication, adventure, and love. A devoted over-the-road truck driver for more than three decades, Jimmy was seldom seen without his loyal four-legged companion, Twix, by his side. His career took him across countless miles, yet his heart always remained close to home and family. Jimmy was a man of many passions. He was an avid hunter, and his love for the outdoors was only rivaled by his skill in the kitchen. Revered as the "master BBQer," he delighted in sharing his culinary creations with all who were fortunate enough to gather around his table. He loved taking cruises and always had one, sometimes two booked in advance. Recently he took his last cruise two weeks ago. For over 12 years, Jimmy was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Chapel, where he found community and spiritual solace. Known as a tough guy with a heart of gold, Jimmy possessed a rare kindness and generosity that left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He would do anything for anyone, embodying a spirit of selflessness and compassion. Jimmy is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Leona Konieczny; father, Charlie Konieczny; Bill McVicor; stepfather, and brother, Ronnie Konieczny. He is survived by his cherished wife of over 23 years, Peggy Konieczny; his loving children, Jessica (Eddie) David, Robert (Amanda) Smith, and Jeremy “Bubba” Moreland; and his dear bonus son, Doc Gibson. James also leaves behind his sisters, Sandy (Jerry) Heinrich, Joyce (Steve) Lawrence, and Donna Konieczny; and his brothers, Charles (Rhonda) Konieczny and Lonnie (Mel) Konieczny. He was a proud grandfather to Eddie David, Jacob Smith, Emory Smith, and Lexi Smith. Among his many relatives, Dusty Konieczny, a special nephew who was like a son, held a unique place in his heart. He held a special place in his heart for his “girls” Allie, Annie, and Lillian. Jimmy touched the lives of many nieces, nephews, and friends, each of whom will miss his warmth and unwavering support. As we remember Jimmy, let us celebrate a life well-lived and cherish the memories of a man whose love knew no bounds.
