James Michael "Mike" Perry, born on June 5, 1950, in Atlanta, GA, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Fayetteville, GA, at the age of 75. Mike was a man whose life was a testament to his unwavering faith, dedication to family, and love for the simple joys in life. He lived by the motto "God, family, football," and he embraced each with an open heart and generous spirit. A devout Christian, Mike was a natural evangelist who touched the lives of many. His favorite question to ask anyone he met was, "Do you know Jesus?" This sincere inquiry was backed by his deep love for spreading the word of Jesus. Mike's closeness to Jesus was always in his thoughts and prayers. He studied the Bible diligently, memorizing scriptures and praying earnestly for everyone. Friends and strangers alike knew they could count on him for prayerful support. Mike had a passion for music and singing, using his talents as both a choir director and leader thru the years. He and his beloved wife, Susan, were greeters and front-row seaters for many years at First Baptist Atlanta. He also joyfully volunteered at New Hope's Living Christmas Tree, sharing his love of music with the community. Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Mike was an avid sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed college football, passionately supporting Florida State University. He loved working outdoors, fishing, and NASCAR, and he was known for his generosity—donating to numerous organizations. His travels and time spent with loved ones filled his days with happiness and purpose. Preceded in death by his parents, James Alexander Perry and Grace Hardy Perry, Mike is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Susan Perry; his cherished son, Michael Perry and his wife, Jess; and his beloved granddaughter, Zoe Perry. He leaves behind cousins Bonnie and Wayne Lewis, Martin and Terri Fowler, and Janet Hardy, alongside several nieces and nephews. His faithful dogs, Rosie and Rusty, will miss him dearly. Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 11 o'clock on Monday, April 13, 2026, at First Baptist Atlanta with a reception to follow. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. In honor of Mike’s memory, let us all strive to carry forward his dedication to faith, family, and the joy of living life to its fullest. As he often exclaimed with heartfelt conviction, "Praise Jesus!"
