Julia Ann "Judy" Kay

Julia Ann "Judy" Kay passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 12:15 a.m. at the age of 89. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness, compassion, grace, and beautiful soul touched everyone who knew her. She was married to her devoted husband, Bob, for 63 years. She is survived by her daughters Brigitte (Ken) Humber of Waleska Georgia, Robin (Eric) Hullemeyer of Sharpsburg Georgia and Jill (Michael) Busenlehner of Homer Georgia and her granddaughters: Michelle Humber (Nate Curry), Crystal Humber, Josie Kay, Julia Faye Busenlehner, and Dorothy Ann Busenlehner and her great-grandchildren: Aeslin Gunnin, Jacob Peek, Layton Gunnin, Ella Curry, Danni Kay, and Evelyn Curry. Judy was a faithful member of Fairburn First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and her daily devotion and prayer time were deeply important to her. She faithfully prayed for her family and for anyone in need of prayer. In her early years, she enjoyed playing tennis, spending time at the beach, swimming, tending to her flowers and garden. Judy loved family gatherings at Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, celebrating birthdays, and especially dressing up for Halloween. She loved costumes and funny glasses. In her later years she loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, and the Georgia Bulldogs with her sister-in-law, Mary. She also loved attending Cedar Grove Community Center where she listened to some of her favorite songs that were sung by her husband Bob and her sister-in-law Betty. She treasured spending time with her sister Sarah, enjoying lunches together, visiting friends, and attending church. Judy was truly a joy to be around -a great listener, a prayer warrior, and a faithful servant of Christ. Her time on earth was well spent, pouring love into the lives of others. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace and comfort in knowing she is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that we will see her again. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev Evan Hill and Dr. Oscar Cope officiating. Interment at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home.
