Larry Copeland

Mr. Larry Copeland, Age 63, of Salem, Alabama passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022. The beloved pillar of the Copeland-Thompson household, he is survived by his wife, Donna Copeland; sons, Brandon Copeland (Bradley), Nate Copeland (Krystal), Benjamin Copeland (Kirstin); grandchildren, Cooper, Cager, Briar; brothers, Rodney Copeland (Julie) and Derek Copeland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin & Heidi Hearn along with sister-in-law, Suzanne Thompson, in addition to several nieces and nephews, his adopted fur baby Riley and of course, his favorite child; Harold the dog. Larry was a man of many facets: He was a man of faith, a man of family, a man of farming, football, food (the grill-master), and fishing. To try to condense Larry Copeland down to a couple of paragraphs would be impossible as he is beyond definition and there aren’t enough pages in this paper to cover every aspect. To say he is gone would be a fallacy: All you need to do to find him is look at his family. Find his love for football in his son Ben, his love for the outdoors in his son Nate, and his passion for what he believes in his son Brandon. Find his unwavering loyalty and devotion in all three of his sons and the love they’ve found in their spouses. Find his obsession for tractors in his grandbabies, Cooper, Cager, and Briar and find the immeasurable love that he left behind for everyone he knew in his wife, Donna Copeland, whom he lived and breathed every second of every day for. Larry is gone physically, but he will never be gone from our hearts. We will see him every time we catch a fish, every time we bow our heads (and remove our hats!) to say the blessing, every time we deep-fry a turkey, and of course, every time the Dawgs have a victory (“Take that Alabama!”). A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Ramah Baptist Church, in Palmetto with Rev. Jeff Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. Friends and loved ones will be received by the family Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn.
