Margaret Lovas

Mrs. Margaret Lovas of Fairburn passed away peacefully on October 30, 2022 surrounded by her family. Margaret was born on July 7, 1941 to parents Harold and Anna Davis. Her father was Yard Master for Ann Arbor Railroad in Owosso, Michigan, where she spent her early years. Unfortunately her father passed away early in her life. After his death, the family lived in East Lansing where her mother was a dietician at Michigan State University. They spent summers in Interlochen and later in Frankfort, Michigan. Margaret trained and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. It was while she was working as Nurse On Duty at a Rainbow Grand Assembly that she caught the eye of a young Mason in attendance. A short courtship later, she married Andy Lovas, the love of her life, on December 23rd, 1961. After son Andre and daughter Leann were born, she devoted her life to being the best mother, wife and homemaker she could be. She was an active volunteer in PTA, DeMolay, Rainbow Girls, and College Park Woman's Club. She supported her husband in all of his Masonic and Fraternal work throughout her life. A talented artist, Margaret was known for her beautiful handwork, embroidery, and crafts of all descriptions. She was an excellent seamstress, designing and creating drapery, pillows, and all types of home décor. Her daughter and granddaughter were always dressed in finery she created, especially the formal gowns Leann wore for Rainbow Girl events. Margaret loved to travel and accompanied Andy on trips around the world. A highlight of their travels was a trip to the Holy Land in 2017. There were also many trips to Europe and Asia, and a pilgrimage to the Lovas’ family town in Hungary. Above all, Margaret loved and lived for her family. She was so proud of her husband, children and grandchildren, not just for their accomplishments, but mostly for the kind and loving people that they are. The joy she shared with us all will be greatly missed. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Anna and Harold Davis. She is survived by her husband Andre “Andy” Lovas; sister, Kay Joles; daughter, Leann Lovas; son, Andre Lovas (Elisabeth); and grandchildren, Nancy Lovas and James Lovas (Lindsey). Funeral services will be held Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2 o’clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Pastor Jonier Orozco officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
