Martin T. (Marty) McNulty

Mr. Martin T. McNulty (Marty) passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on February 13 after a brave battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Andrews McNulty of Sharpsburg; son Martin T. McNulty, II (little Marty)and his wife Lynn of Ft. Washington, PA; daughter Alice McNulty and her husband Reggie Herring of East Point; daughter Julie Leach and her husband Andrew of Newnan; step son Brent Crockett and his wife Kelly of Sharpsburg; stepson Jeff Crockett and his wife Ashley of Kennesaw; brother John McNulty and his wife Rosalie; sisters Joan Cherubini, Claire Fitzmaurice, and Ann Marie Roehrer and her husband Buddy. He is also survived by six grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Drew, Bianca, Addison, Hayley, Analise, and Hayden. Marty was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey on August 11, 1943 to Ann and Martin McNulty (deceased). After graduation, he was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps from 1961-65. Marty joined Delta Air Lines in 1968 and shortly after moved his family to Newnan, Georgia where he happily spent nearly 30 happy years. Marty met the love of his life, Kathy and they were married in October, 2001. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He retired from Delta after 27 years of dedicated service and went on to his second career as “manny” to six grandkids. Marty was a member of the Second Marine Division Association since the early 1990’s and has served on the scholarship committee since 1996, leading the efforts as Chairman since 2002. He was a member of the Clyde Thompson Chapter 1325 of the Marine Corps League and volunteered his time with “Toys for Tots” and several charitable golf tournaments. Marty was a good and loving husband, son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather. He was also a very loyal friend and neighbor. We will all miss Marty’s kind heart and infectious personality. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 2 o’clock St. Matthew Catholic Church with Father Kevin Hargaden officiating. A private burial will be held at Georgia National Cemetery.
