Marty Bostwick

Marty Leavell Bostwick, 91, of Peachtree City passed away June 15, 2015. Mrs. Bostwick was born February 10, 1924 in Marietta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, W. A. Bostwick, Jr., her parents, Pauline and Jesse Leavell, and her great-grandson, Jack Michael Smith. Survivors include children, Randy Bostwick (Lana), Rhonda Cox (Michael). Grandchildren, Courtney Cox Smith (Tim), Meredith Bostwick-Lorenzo Eiroa (Pablo), Christopher Cox and Melanie Bostwick. Funeral service will be held at Flat Creek Baptist Church on Monday, June 22 at 11:00 o'clock with remains placed in-state at 10:00 o'clock. Dr. Dennis Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home 770-964-4800. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, GA 30291. Marty lived in the Atlanta area for most of her life. She and her husband, W.A. married on June 7, 1946. They lived on the Southwest side of Atlanta for many years where they were active members of Beecher Hills Baptist Church and Lakeside Country Club. Marty first found her love of playing golf as a founding member of the Lakeside Country Club Ladies Golf Association in 1961. Since that time she has served as President of the GA Women's Golf Association in 1975, President of the Canongate Ladies Golf Association in 2000, Chairman of the Canongate Ladies Golf Board in 2001 and 2002, active in the Canongate Ladies Golf Association serving on various committees through 2015, member of West GA Ladies Golf Association and the Middle GA Ladies Golf Association. In 1982 Marty made a hole in one while playing in a tournament and her prize was a new car! She also won a trip to Scotland where she and W.A. were able to play at St. Andrews. Marty loved playing Bridge, Bunco, Poker and Mahjong with her friends. She made many trips with friends to Las Vegas, Biloxi and Tunica. A member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, Marty enjoyed her Sunday School Class and spending time with her friends from her church. Marty was an amazing lady. She was active and doing all the things she enjoyed up until the day she entered the hospital. Marty will be remembered as a great mom and Memaw. We love you, we will miss you and we will never forget you!
