Mary Jo "Jodi" Bradberry

Mrs. Mary Jo “Jodi” Bradberry was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home in Gay, Georgia surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jo was born January 22, 1955 in Dekalb County, GA. She spent much of her childhood in and around the Atlanta area. As a young lady, she attended O'Keeffe High School. She became a best friend and beloved wife to her husband, Danny, and together they made a life where they moved to Clayton County and then on to Meriwether County. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend, who always put others before herself. Jodi, as most people knew her, was a faithful member of Alvaton Baptist Church, where she could often be found helping with vacation bible school or teaching her “little Sunday school children” about Jesus. She was also an avid quilter, and especially loved making baby quilts for family and friends. She retired from Meriwether County Board of Education after 22 years of dedicated service. Her most recent employment was at Unity Elementary School where her daughter, Amanda, now carries on her mother's legacy of shaping minds and impacting lives. “Grandma Jo” as her grandkids called her, had the most generous, loving heart, and will be fondly remembered for her kindness, compassion, selflessness, and forever changing the life of anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her. She is survived by her lovingly devoted husband of 48 years, Danny L. Bradberry Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Danny Jr. and Angela Bradberry; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Howard Slauson; son David Bradberry; mother Colene Durden; brother, David Clack; sisters, Dianne Cotton, Brenda Rittenhouse, Thelma Cheek, Angela Wade-Cox, and Davida Greene; sister in love, Rubynelle Thompson; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Bradberry, Abbey Slauson, Alex Bradberry, Nathan Bradberry, Triston Bradberry; 1 great- grandchild, Savion Hyers; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Clack, and sisters, Donna Traylor-French, Elizabeth Clack, and Jewell Mitchell. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home in Fairburn, GA with Pastor Byrom Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 pm and then one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory, 770-964-4800.
