Matthew "Matt" Todd Eskew

Matthew (Matt) Todd Eskew, 42, of Newnan, passed away January 14, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Janice Longino Eskew, and children Blalock, Gracyn, Emory, and Harper Eskew. He is also survived by his parents, Johnny and Alice Eskew; in-laws Dan and Gina Longino, Patricia Longino; sisters Kelly Rock (Chris), Allison Hogue (Ryan); sisters in-law Dana McClure (Derrick), Holly Willis; and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Matt was born February 4, 1980 in Atlanta and raised in Fairburn, Georgia. Growing up, he was an avid athlete, playing football, baseball, and wrestling. He graduated from Landmark Christian School in 1998, where he met his future wife, Janice. From an early age, Matt had a love for equipment and heavy machinery and was able to turn this passion into a thriving career. Following graduation, Matt started his own business in landscaping and later grew the company into residential and commercial clearing, grading, and site development. Matt always had a love for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Most recently, he enjoyed traveling with his family and being the boat captain for his son, Blalock, in Heard County High School Bass Anglers tournaments. The father-son team also regularly participated in charity and local team bass tournaments. Aside from Matt’s career and hobbies, his true love was his family. Matt dedicated his life to being a devoted husband to his wife of 17 years and a caring and loving father to his son and three daughters, who are all daddy’s girls. Although Matt appeared tough to most, he had a soft side when it came to his little girls. A true girl dad, Matt was known to fix hairbows and tend to nail polish. He quickly became educated in girl fashion and all things pink. One of Matt’s proudest moments was gifting four wheelers to each of his children, where the family made countless memories riding and spending time together. Matt was loved by everyone he met, making friends everywhere he went with his contagious smile and fun-loving personality. He never met a stranger and was the true definition of a people person. Matt’s unexpected departure will leave a huge void in the lives of all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11 o’clock. The family will receive friends at Parrott Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a donation to the Eskew Family Trust (payable to Eskew family Trust, dated January 14, 2023) and mailed to 5042 Smokey Road Newnan, Georgia 30263 for the benefit of his family.
