Mildred Virginia Blankenship

Beloved mother, Mildred Virginia Blankenship (Edwards), of Union City, GA was called home to Jesus, Friday, May 3, 2024. Mildred was born to William Dewey and Gennie Azilee Edwards on Monday, October 14,1940. She was 83 at the time of her passing. Mildred spent her life as a dedicated and loving mother, who enjoyed any opportunity to praise and worship God. She shared her unwavering faith in God with those surrounding her. Mildred’s love for Christ was infectious to anyone in her presence and it is that devotion in Christ that led Mildred to spend her adult life caring for those around her as a homemaker, nursery teacher and home care assistant. Mildred was a devout member of Shadnor First Baptist Church where she worshiped and sang praises to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Mildred joins her beloved parents, William and Gennie Edwards; son, Robert Blankenship; and grandson, Jeremy Blankenship in Heaven. She is survived by her loving children, Penny (Jim) Wiederhold, Ronnie (Susan) Blankenship Sr, Ree (Debbie Couch) Blankenship; cherished grandchildren, Wayne Keller, Brandy (Darrick) Patterson, Ronnie (Shandra) Blankenship Jr, Brandon Richards, Josh (Elizabeth) Richards, William Blankenship, Rhonda (David) Ramsey, Nic Blankenship, Caleb Blankenship, Ronald Blankenship; adored great grandchildren Camry (Brandon) Norris, Cailey Mewborn, Victoria (Marsalis) Turner, Kendall (James) Ward, Kaylen Blankenship, Neveah Vigh, Cameron Blankenship, Autumn Keller, Jackson Keller, Riley Ramsey, Kinsley Keller, Donovan Ramsey, Sarah Sassanella, Ryatt Ramsey; and treasured great great grandchildren Addie Norris, Caiden Harris, Grier Norris, and Romeo Turner. She is also survived by her brothers, Ronald and Marshall Edwards, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. To love Mildred was an honor; she will forever be remembered for her kindness, dedication and love for Jesus Christ and her family. It is with love her family reminds all that knew her that Jesus Never Fails! Mildred’s celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 1:00 p.m at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, 8355 Senoia Rd, Fairburn GA 30213. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn and Memorial Gardens,5575 Mallory Rd, College Park GA 30349, . The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, May 7, 2024 from 5 pm until 8pm at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory.
