Sara Angelyn "Angie" Rainwater Terry

Sara Angelyn “Angie” Rainwater Terry was born on October 16, 1942, to Floyd Buren Rainwater and Sarah Ella Stone Rainwater and went to be with Jesus on April 16, 2026. She spent all of her childhood and early adult life in Atlanta, Georgia, then moved to Fairburn with her husband, Gene, where she remained throughout her life. The most important thing in her life was her faith. She was an active member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church, originally in East Point and later in Lithia Springs. For about 20 years she served as secretary of Colonial Hills Christian School. Most of her closest friendships began at CHBC. Angie was a card-carrying member of the Geezer Club, which included her closest friends who met regularly along with their respective only children. She enjoyed playing the piano and taught many students over the years. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. Angie enjoyed 54 years of marriage to Gene, and he was the love of her life. They enjoyed traveling together, had a very different but equal love for music, and laughing. Their house was the home of the annual Ice Cream Party and that was the highlight of every year. Her grandboys were the light of her life. She cared for them most days when they were small and as they got older, she lived for the moments she could spend with them. She enjoyed the last couple of years of her life with her grandson and “roommate”, who cherished the time they spent together just as much as she did. Angie is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Buren & Sarah Ella Stone Rainwater, her husband, Merrell Eugene Terry, her sister Betty Jean Rainwater Clark and her niece, Eva Hightower. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Tuggle and her husband Ryan, her grandsons, Braedon and Gavin Lee and step-grandson Triston Tuggle, her brother, Lyndal and sister-in-law, Barbara Rainwater, her brother, Philip Rainwater, nephews, Scott (Patti) and Kevin (Cindy) Clark and nieces, Amy (Nick) Kendrick and Kristi (Mike) Early, many nieces and nephews-in-law, cousins and friends she considered family. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11 o’clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Ernst officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Angie’s highest priority was to make sure that everyone she loved knew the Lord. She was an example of grace, forgiveness and faith. Her final days were spent telling the people she loved how much they were loved by her Jesus. So many people loved her and will feel her absence until we meet again in heaven.
