Sara Lourene Grubbs Bentley

Sarah Lourene Grubbs Bentley, affectionately known as Sara, passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on September 28, 1944, in Palmetto, Georgia, she lived a life full of love, dedication, and creativity. Sara was a devoted educator, imparting knowledge and inspiring young minds as a cherished teacher with Fulton County Schools. Her impact on students and colleagues alike was profound, and her legacy in education is remembered fondly. A woman of remarkable skill and talent, Sara was an accomplished seamstress who could sew, cross-stitch, or tackle any needlework project with precision and passion. Known for her intelligence and resourcefulness, she had an innate ability to find solutions and accomplish tasks with grace and efficiency. Sara was an active member of Palmetto Baptist Church, where she found solace and friendship within her faith community. Her commitment to her church was a testament to her character and the compassion she extended to those around her. Preceded in death by her loving parents, Taska Theodore and Margaret Barge Grubbs, her devoted husband Fred "Tommy" Bentley, Jr., her beloved sister Beverley Johnston and sister-in-law Peggy Turner, brother-in-law Frank Lambert, niece Elizabeth Lambert, and nephews Gary Turner and Stanton Johnston, Sara is now reunited with them in eternal peace. She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory: her daughter Stephanie Anderson and husband James, her son Fred Bentley III and wife Yanneth, and her grandchildren Katie Anderson, Mikhail Shuykin, and Ariadna Shuykin. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Roberts and Karen Lambert, her brother David Grubbs and wife Dianne, brother-in-law L.M. Turner, and numerous cherished nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Rev. Lee Brewer officiating. Following the service, Sara will be laid to rest at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Sara's warmth, wisdom, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her presence will forever be felt in the lives she touched.
