William 'Will" Singleton

William W. Singleton October 9, 1942 - November 23, 2022 Will was born in Cherokee County Alabama in the Fall of 1942 to Ted and Jewel Singleton. He was the sixth and last child in the family of four brothers and two sisters. Their names in the order of birth are: Chester, Garvis, Eloise, Nellie, Ray and Will. The family lived in the community of Sand Valley and Ted (their father) was a farmer by occupation. It was incumbent uponthe children to assist their dad in chores and the work of farming. This was a good life; they got to work outside in the fresh air and sunshine with their dad while their mother would prepare the most delicious meals which they would wolf down at lunch time and then it was back to work until the sun went down. The next day would find this routine repeated. His parents were of the Baptist faith and attended a small church in Sand Valley, as did he. Will had many fond memories of those days; his friends and teachers were so dear to him. After graduation from high school, he tried college for a while and that did not out well, so he later applied for entrance into the U.S. Air Force and was accepted into and trained as an aircraft mechanic and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in northern California. It was there that he was introduced to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in March of 1965 in Napa, California. He then attended and graduated from Auburn University in 1970. Children that were born into and received into by marriage are: Jack, Andrew, jimmy, Matthew, Jodi, Philip and Rebekah. Each one had a very special place in his heart, as did their spouses: Rebecca, Kerry, Lori, Susan, Robb, Lori and Mike. From these marriages, Jan and he have been blessed with these wonderful grandchildren: Brandon, Colby, Kelsey, Katelyn, Jacob, Brianna, Nick, Hailey, Ashley, Kaleb, Noah, Ashton, Skyler, Cade, Ethan, Gavin, Xander, Paisley, Summer, Lara, Allison, Amanda, Emily, Jackson, Olivia and Cora. As well as great-grandchildren: Harrison, Kai, Kollins and Karson. Each one of these precious children was loved by him. For anyone that is not a member of his faith, He would like to share his last and final testimony and tell you of his love and of his desire to meet you in the celestial kingdom of the Heavenly Father when your lives in mortality are over. He treasured the teachings of the church and believe the testimonies of all the prophets of the restored church. These teachings will help anyone who is sincerely seeking the truth to find it, and will help you to avoid the deceptions of the adversary. The gospel is so precious and was made possible by the atonement of our savior Jesus Christ. He is the cornerstone of his faith and it is Him and the Father whom he worships. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 at the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Palmetto, GA The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 at Parrott Funeral Home.
