Barbara Ann (Kopp) Atkinson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Ann (Kopp) Atkinson was born June 20th, 1945 in Kansas City, MO to George and Betty Kopp. She was number 2 of 11 children and the greatest sister anyone could want. Barbara was a woman of many talents. She graduated from high school and immediately entered the convent to begin her journey as a Catholic nun. She also completed her nursing degree during this time and worked in various nursing positions. After her 10 year stint as a nun, she opted for a different direction to serve the community. She became a restaurant owner in South Carolina and that is where she met her husband Kimber and they married in 1995. From there, she decided to get back into nursing again, which led to a career in Hospice Care. She joined the team at Southwest Christian Care in 2010. For the last 12 years, Barbara has cared for numerous patients as well as their families. She made her patients feel loved and special while under her care. She leaves behind her husband Kimber, sisters: Janice, Kathleen, and Betty Ann, brothers: George, Terry, Jimmy, Bobby, Mike, and Bill, as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara will be missed by many people. The Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 8th, 2022 at 11 o’clock at Lester Road Christian Church with minister Tony Sullivan officiating.
