October 20, 1948 - January 10, 2021
Gary Ralph Anderson of Newnan, Georgia went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 10, 2021. Gary graduated from Headland High School. He sold hardware, plumbing supplies, and also worked as a Call Center Supervisor at In Touch Ministries. His first love was the Lord Jesus Christ. His desire was for everyone he knew to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior so they could have eternal life. One of his favorite Bible verses was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.” He also loved Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path.” Gary loved Christian music, as well. He attended First Baptist Church of Atlanta for over 35 years. He was endeared by all his nieces and nephews who have fond memories of him being able to do a perfect imitation of the voice of Donald Duck. He also loved fishing and loved to have the family over to fish off our dock, especially on Easter Sunday. Though Gary is now gone from our sight, he is now in plain sight of those family members who have gone before him and he is now beholding the face of Jesus Christ his Savior, who died for him so he could have eternal life in heaven. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8 Gary is survived by his wife, Pam Anderson; four brothers: Greg (Linda) Anderson; Brian (Carol) Anderson; Tim Anderson; and Jim (Sallie) Anderson. Though he had no children, he helped raise his niece, Jackie Shorter Cole, and his nephew, Larry Asher, who he loved as his own. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park, Georgia, with his brother, Rev. Brian Anderson, officiating. Those wishing to may sign the online guestbook at www.parrottfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southwest Christian Care Daybreak: 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291. The family would especially like to thank Rachel Williams and the entire staff at Country Gardens in Union City, Georgia and Terri Steely and Salena Smith of Southern Grace Hospice for the loving care they provided Gary during his illness. He loved them so.
