Hugh F. O'Neil, Jr.

Hugh F. O’Neil, Jr., age 81, passed away from heart disease on December 10, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda M. O’Neil. Hugh was born in Miami, Florida but lived in Texas, Tennessee, and California before returning to Miami to work in retail and eventually devote his life to full-time ministry. For over 28 years, he and Linda served at Bird Road Baptist Church, Riverside Baptist Church, and Central Baptist Church. During the last 13 years, he preached, taught, trained, and counseled at Miami Beach Baptist Church. Subsequently, Hugh and Linda, became certified chaplains and volunteered at Oceanside Extended Care Center for over 11 years. They retired in 2004 and relocated to Tyrone, Georgia. He was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 12 o'clock at Resthaven Garden of Memory, Decatur, GA with Pastor Lynn McClain officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends and family wishing to honor him may make a donation in his name (Hugh F. O’Neil, Jr.), to Kenwood Baptist, 229 Kenwood Road, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
