Tommie Trent Carroll

September 16, 1955 - October 5, 2020

Tommie Trent Carroll, age 65, of Tyrone, GA. met his Savior face to face on Monday, October 5, 2020. He is preceded by his parents Bruce and Frances Carroll and sister, Betty Barden of Clayton, NC. and nephew Tyler Johnson. Tommie is survived by his wife Terri Mathis Carroll, children and grandchildren; Patrick and his wife Janna Carroll and two sons Samuel and Judah, of Anderson, CA, Bethany Carroll and fiancé Josh Scott and two sons Malakai and Jack of Peachtree City, GA, Sarah Clayton and two sons Kyler and Sawyer of Newnan, GA, Jessie and her husband Mike VanKlaveren of Dallas, TX, Jordan and Ashleigh Carroll and their daughter Lillian of Atlanta, GA, his two sisters, Amanda with husband Richard Lowe of Nashville, TN and nephew Bryce Johnson, and Paulette with husband Shane Farmer of Wilmington, NC and nephew Paul Morris, brother-in-law Chuck Barden, nephews Charles and Jacob Barden. Along with three surviving aunts: Maggie Horton, Joyce Clark Lewis and Claudia Rentz and many cousins. He is also survived by his in-laws Doug and Jenny Mathis, Ron and Audrey Mathis, Lori and Keith Stallings and many nieces and nephews. Growing up in their church where his father was a deacon, Tommie felt a calling from the Lord at a young age to follow Jesus. His father purchased him a small classical guitar that most assuredly shaped his life and love of music. After moving to Atlanta, Ga. to pursue college, he met the Love of his life and they married in 1978. Through seminary, Tommie dug his roots down deep into his understanding and, moreover, his love of the scripture and its Author. Watching the Lord lead and provide for his family time and time again, Tommie developed a strong conviction to live by faith in Christ alone. And that is what he did!
