Jaymie G Hux

Jaymie G. (Gwa) Hux, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 88 surrounded by her family. Born on September 16, 1937, in Epps, Louisiana, Jaymie was the beloved daughter of the late James C. and Diantha Grubbs. Jaymie dedicated many years of her professional life to working in airline reservations at United Airlines, where she was known for her diligence and commitment. Beyond her career, she was a devoted member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, where she found joy and purpose in serving her church family. Jaymie will be remembered for her unwavering faith and her love for her church, where she actively participated in a card ministry, spreading kindness and comfort through her thoughtful words. She displayed a true servant's heart in everything she did, always ready to lend a hand and support those around her. Her passion for cooking and baking brought joy to many, as she loved to feed people and bring them together through her culinary talents. She is preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Diantha Grubbs, husband, Jack Hux, sister, Gail Thompson and brother, John Grubbs. Jaymie's legacy lives on through her surviving family: her daughter, Diantha Jones Sumner, and her husband Robert; her step-son, Bruce Hux, and his wife Joyce; her grandchildren, Chrissy Konvicka, and her husband Troy, along with their daughters JaymieGrace, Hannah, and Carleigh; Callie Campbell and her husband George; Susie Blanks and her husband Doug; Donnie Ball and her husband Marc; Missy Long and her husband Chad; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. A memorial service to honor Jaymie's life will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 4 o'clock at Flat Creek Baptist Church, with Dr. Josh Saefkow officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 161 Flat Creek Trail, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Jaymie's warmth, generosity, and dedication to her faith and family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
