Richard Miles Gaddy, Sr.

Richard Miles Gaddy, Sr of Fayetteville stepped thru Heaven’s Gates on Nov. 22, 2021. He was the best father, father-in-law and Paw – Paw any family could ask for. He loved the Lord and raised his family to put God first in their lives. He is survived by his sons Rick (Phyllis) Gaddy of Tyrone, Dennis (Judy) Gaddy of Newnan, daughter Sue(Mark) Watson of Fairburn. Grand children - Amy (Joshua) Butts, Jim (Michelle) Gaddy, Matt (Heather) Watson, Brittany (Brandon) Jackson, Emilie Watson and Nicki (Adam) Hurd. Great Grandchildren David & Emma Butts, Landon and Lincoln Gaddy, Abigail Watson, Baby girl Jackson due in February 2022, Ethan Hurd and Baby boy Hurd due in April 2022, Brother Clyde Gaddy of McDonough, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents V.L and Lula K Gaddy, brother Frank L. Gaddy, his first wife and the mother of his children Carolyn Dodd Ingram, his second wife Mary I Gaddy. Richard was Owner of Gaddy Lumber Company and Gaddy Construction Company until 2002. Prior to the Lumber Company he was branch manager of Tri Cities Federal Savings and Loan in Fairburn. He was also a member of the South Fulton Kiwanis Club and a Member of Fairburn Masonic Lodge. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Degree in Business Management. He was a member of Fairburn United Methodist Church where he held several positions as Church treasurer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Building Committee and a long -standing member of the chancel choir during his time here on earth as a steward of the Lord. He loved supporting and coaching his children and grand children in their activities of playing sports and dancing. He spent some of his spare time fishing and building custom homes. Most of all he loved serving Our Lord and Savior. He will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing and loving him, but we will see him again in Paradise. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11 o’clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Dr. George Dillard officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens. Those wishing may sign the online guestbook at www.parrottfuneralhome.com.
