Susan Brittain Boehms Harris, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, gifted artist, and cherished sister and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 19, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, grace, and a vibrant spirit that touched every life she encountered. Born and raised in Atlanta, Susan’s beauty—both inside and out was matched only by her warmth, humor, and generosity. She had a natural gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved. As the heart of her family, she poured endless encouragement, joy, and light into the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was their constant cheerleader, supporter, and source of love and laughter. Susan was a gifted artist whose beautiful watercolor paintings will forever serve as reminders of her amazing creativity and talent. In her professional life, Susan exemplified hard work and integrity. She retired after 25 years of service as the Deputy Court Administrator for the State Court of Fulton County, earning the respect of colleagues and the community alike. Her circle of friendship was vast and treasured. From her childhood days with her best friend, Marcia Williams, to the dear companions of the Friendship Sunday School class at Newnan First United Methodist Church, her book club, her neighbors at the Arbors, her Tuesday night dinner friends, and her fellow artists in the Newnan Coweta Art Association—Susan formed lasting bonds of genuine affection and mutual joy. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Brittain, Sr. and Josie Lynn Brittain; her beloved husband of over forty years, Tommy Boehms, with whom she raised a loving family; and her dear husband Cecil Harris, who she was married to for 18 years and lost less than a month ago. She is survived by her beloved brother Lawrence Brittain, Jr. (Fran); her devoted children: Tommy Inman (Pam); Susie King (Richard); and Amy Boehms. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, who were her greatest source of pride, Britt Inman (Veronika), Ben Inman (Kirsten), Brooke Owens (Ryan), and Thomas Goldberg, as well as five adored great-grandchildren. Susan will be remembered for her beautiful paintings, her magnetic and funny personality, her sparkling laugh, and the love she so freely gave. Her spirit remains alive in the countless hearts she touched and the joy she brought to this world. A visitation will be held on Sunday at Parrott Funeral Home, Senioa Road, Fairburn, GA from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Susan’s honor to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House, Newnan First United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice.
