Suzanne Kitchens

Suzanne Kitchens, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Luthersville, Georgia. Born on September 23, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia, she lived a full and vibrant life of 78 years. Suzanne was a dedicated educator who retired after 25 years as an English teacher, having inspired countless students at North Clayton High School and Jonesboro High School. Her passion for literature and learning left a lasting impression on those around her. Beyond her professional life, Suzanne had a deep love for genealogy research, RV travel, and ballroom dancing. These interests brought her joy and adventure, and she delighted in sharing these pursuits with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rex Luke Casey and Peggy Casey; her son, David Wayne Kitchens; and her brother-in-law, Troy Leslie Canady. Suzanne's memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband of 59 years, Joe Kitchens; her devoted daughter, Pitta Kitchens, and son-in-law, Robert; and her daughter-in-law, Mary Dreisbach Kitchens. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Catherine Fink Bates (Matthew), Nicholas Fink (Katelyn), Emily Kitchens, and Kelsey Kitchens Cash (Josh); and her great-grandchildren, Emma Cate Bates, Madeline Bates, Dawson Moore, Annesley Moore, Houston Kitchens, Everley Fink, Millie Cash, and Stetson Cash. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Casey Canady; her brother, James Donald Casey, and sister-in-law, Jody; along with four nephews, two nieces, and a large extended family. Suzanne was known for her unwavering love for her family and her selfless spirit of helping everyone around her. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. A service to celebrate Suzanne's life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11 o'clock in the Chapel of Parrott Funeral Home, with Reverend Joshua Casey officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time on Thursday at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
